UPDATED Tryout Information the 2020 / 2021 Season

Hello Predators Families,

We hope everyone is safe and healthy.  While there is still much to unfold, we want to provide the much-anticipated update for the 2020-2021 hockey season after the NYSAHA meeting on the 18th and how tryouts/signing of players for the 2020-2021 season will be handled.

With parts of NY still not open the NYSAHA has agreed that any on and off ice tryouts or other events are still prohibited so they have agreed to let organizations sign players for the 2020-2021 season without holding try outs.

You will need to log into and register your player by May 31st.

Please register your player under the tryout link for their appropriate team.  Please note the try out fee will be placed towards the season tuition.  Next season's tuition is TBD depending on the availability of ice, tournaments, etc.

You will have to register for the “try-out” to be eligible for consideration to play for the Predators for the 2020-2021 season.  If you have already registered for tryouts prior to everything being shutdown you do NOT need to register again.

The windows will then open up for organizations to sign players following the below schedule.  Once these windows open coaches will reach out to let you know to proceed to sign your player up for the 2020-2021 regular reason.

Below are the windows for players to be signed onto teams:

June 1 - 10th

               14U, 16U & 18U State Tournament Bound Teams

June 11 - 30th

               8U, 10U, 12U (All team levels)

July 1st

               Rosters are Frozen

Obviously, a lot has changed due to the COVID-19 crisis so to comply with state and local regulations there will also be a refund period.

Refund Period - If a player/family who signed a contract for the 2020-2021 season needs to withdraw due to financial hardship or COVID-19 concerns, they will be permitted to do so by August 15, 2020.  They will receive a full refund from the Predators of any monies paid to date, with the exception of the cost of jerseys or equipment that was purchased for the specific player.  Players who are released under these conditions WILL NOT BE PERMITTED to play for any other National or State Tournament bound team or any other travel team and will only be allowed to play a in house hockey league for the 2020-2021 season.

We realize the above is very different than all other years so if you have any questions or concerns PLEASE reach out to Ken @  , Allisen @   or the general Predators email box at  .  We are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

All the best,

Palisades Predators Board
